Limmat SUP & Grill

Limmat SUP n GrillNew on the Limmat in Zurich, every Thursday evening: After Work SUP & Grill.

River-SUP is a unique kind of stand up paddling, and the Limmat River between Escher-Wyss Platz and Hoenggerwehr is the perfect place to get to know it. We use special river boards, especially made for whitewater. In Zurich, the river Limmat flows gently though - perfect to learn this great sport. Many find it even easier than SUP on Lake Zurich, because the river doesn't have any unpredictable waves.

  • When: every Thursday 17:00 - 21:00H (only when the weather is good), May - October
  • Location: At the end of the Hardeggstrasse, 8049 Zurich Höngg
  • RSVP: not necessary, but it's always good to know who's coming
  • Info: [mail address protected from spambots with javascript]

You must have basic swimming skills, but we also provide helmets and PFDs for extra security. Your first time on the water will be under supervision of an expert, and after a short introduction you will be able to paddle alone.

Bring your own:

  • Meat, fish or veggies for on the grill, and maybe some bread
  • Drinks
  • Swimsuits and a large towel (there are no cabins on the site)
  • Good water shoes (the river bed is rocky), such as Vibram Fivefingers or some old sneakers

At the Limmat SUP & Grill, everything is free, but the organizing Club SUPzero can also offer river SUP courses on-demand, and most gear can also be rented.

  • Info: [mail address protected from spambots with javascript]
