Dec 5 Social Instagram Today was day three at the ironmana 2k15. Today had two races. (If you look at this picture, those are the islands the following is referring too) The first race was a prone paddle to the neighboring island, swim around the island, run up the mountain, prone paddle back to the start, and then stand up paddle around the two islands. The second event was a really fun sprint race. The course was about 150ft in which the first leg was a surfski paddle to the end then sprint back in the beach. Then we hopped in an outrigger with no fun and raced down the course. The following leg was the swim, then prone paddle, and last but not least was the stand up and sprint to the finish on the beach. I felt like my heart was going to rip out of my chest. It was an amazing experience. I was able to pull of a second place in both events. Congrats on everyone surviving another day and to @roryvchapman_ for taking both wins. @lairdapparel @lairdstandup @cobianfootwear @cobian_sup #everystepmatters #lairdapparel #borabora #surviving #weliveforthis #workhardplayhard #run #swimming #paddle #sup #ironmana2k15
Dec 5 Social Instagram Good to see @chuckglynn develop his prone paddling and swimming this year to round out his SUP skilz. He's killing it out here at the Bora Bora Liquid Festival & IronMana Competition 2015, and if he keeps training hard and stays humble the skies the limit #grasshoppergraduation #ironmana2015 #weliveforthis #borabora #tahiti #sup #pronezone #swim #outrigger #photooftheday @gopro @kainalu.xt @airtahitinui @oakleyendurance @cobianfootwear @lairdhamiltonsurf

Dec 4 Social Instagram If you own your own island then you know you've made it. A very successful French man owns this one and planted his own forest of coconut trees that are greener than the rest on #borabora because he can. This is another one of the islands we swam past today...@roachfree @gplsek @chuckglynn @yendorsille @alexkostich @gracevanderbyl @morganhoesterey @roryvchapman_ @mkuiky @karlagilbert @aimeespector @knektusa @airtahitinui @gopro @kainalu.xt @airtahitinui @oakleyendurance @surftech @carbopro1 #borabora #tahiti #sup #pronezone #swim #outrigger #photooftheday #weliveforthis #photooftheday #gopro #nature #goprotravel #iphoneonly
Dec 4 Social Instagram Day 2 of competition at the #ironmana2015 was no joke. We swam for a total of 12k swim (longer than I've ever swam in one day) broken up in 5 different legs. After the first individual time trial swim the Master of Ceremonies (and Torture) Stephan @kainalu.xt dropped us off the boat & chummed the water to stir up some blacktop reef sharks for us. Being able to take this unbelievable prestine view of nature was the highlight of the day. Then Steph said 'In two minutes you are all swimming to that island a couple Kilometers away.' It was one of three islands we swam to, continuing the grueling physical challenges but also out opportunity to see #beautiful #borabora in a unique way. Congrats to all the competitors for accomplishing this feat: @roachfree @gplsek @chuckglynn @alexkostich @gracevanderbyl @morganhoesterey @roryvchapman_ @mkuiky @karlagilbert @aimeespector and the rest who are not on Instagram. Dec 2 Social Instagram A general view of the overwater bungalow at sunset situated over a prestine reef during the Bora Bora Liquid Festival & IronMana Competition 2015 at the Sofitel Marara Beach Resort in Bora Bora, French Polynesia. Some of the world's greatest water athletes make the journey to put their physical and mental endurance to the test in sporting events based on water sports and Tahitian culture include a grueling single-man outrigger canoe (va'a hoe) race, surf-ski competitions, prone paddling distance races, standup paddling sprints and long-distance swims. The island of Bora Bora—known to have the world's most pristine lagoon—sets the ultimate stage for this entirely water-based event in its 15th year. It's an honor, pleasure and privilege to be out here this year competing with @gplek @rochfrey @chuckglynn @yendorsille @roryvchapman_ @gracevanderbyl @morganhoesterey @aimeespector and the rest not on Instagram. And very very special thanks to my wonderful wife @lem_girl for all you do for our family and sacrifice to allow me to chase my dreams #loveyou #borabora #tahiti #sup #pronezone #swim #outrigger #photooftheday #gopro Shot with @gopro with @knektusa and @kainalu.xt @airtahitinui @surftechusa @oakleyendurance @carbopro1 @timmckenna @gregb689
