A new, outrigger version of the W Kayak offering higher load capacity and the extra stability to go with it.

This new configuration of the W fishing kayak features a large size outrigger in order to increase load capacity and stability, and thus offer full tandem capabilities for paddling and fishing while sitting or standing in its cockpit.

The Outrigger W Fishing Kayak includes a W Fishing Kayak, an outrigger (pontoon), and 2 Extren tubes and pins that attach them together.

Two normal size adults can stand up in the cockpit and paddle as well as fish together. Both kayak and canoe paddles as well as mixed combinations can be used. No rudder is required.

Outrigger Materials:
The outrigger is cut out of a regular W Kayak hull made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It is then filled with cast, marine grade, closed cell Urethane foam of 2 lb/cubic ft density.


Speed: Since the outrigger has the same length at waterline (L/W) as the kayak itself additional residual resistance (Rr) is reduced to a minimum.

Assembly

The outrigger is attached to the kayak with two Extren (extruded fiberglass) tubes of 1.25" (3.2 cm) diameter that go through the upper part of the hulls, and spring steel hitch pin clips.
Assembling and disassembling the boat can take from 2 to 5 minutes.
