Not sure what the deal is..but the standup zone forum has been randomly deleting posts...i sent them a message to see what is happening? anybody else having this problem? No wonder I like SUPZero so much...Thanks Jereon! well done

I think I have an idea... A couple of threads had brand affiliated folks (brand ambassadors and people who work for the brands) posting lots and lots of stuff. Doing that conflicts with the policy of the Zone. A number of my posts were deleted as well as there was the perception that I was affiliated with a certain brand. I am pretty sure that I have dispelled that perception through direct communication with Admin.

The rule there is (I think) that if you are not an advertiser but work for a brand, you are not supposed to pimp your stuff.

So if your post got deleted, I would address it with admin at the site.

This site has a different policy and allows the above types of posts. To each site, his or her own...

I look forward watching this forum develop.

I'm done with the zone... If you pay them money you can post whatever you like..otherwise they moderate you to death....glad we have other better options!

Yup... basically that's how the Zone works - pay to post. And if you're into a brand that doesn't pay, your stuff gets deleted anyway even if you're just some guy paying retail... weird

How many threads are there about Pads vs Wax, etc...many, many threads.

Yet if you mention the name of any person that is literarily shaping this sports future that doesn't pay them to advertise, they delete it within minutes.

Yes, the Zone is 100% "pay to post" if you are a mfgr. They deleted a post I had with a video because I said it was a board made by Jackson Kayak. Then they deleted my account after being on there for a year. Never again. Glad to see this forum up. time to promote it so we can have a great place to share without fear of being taken down.

I was banned from there also. Took a bit , but was able to register under a new name. Problem is now I'm afraid to post there.

Sorry to bring this back again. But im going to rant since i can't post anything bad about SUZ without getting it deleted.
Recently i reply to a post on Corran's 2 in1 board(haven't seen yet, just go to Corran's site), of course it got deleted. Everyone who post have no affiliation with Corran and follow the posting rules. I then follow the Admin in SUZ's suggestion by posting it in their private forum(most normal user wont see it, he have to grant you access to it). Of course that got deleted, even in the private forum which only can be seen by the sponsors and few users. Seems like the Admin have a beef with Corran. Even L41 brand post don't get as much deletion compare to Corran's brand.
I just PM the Admin at SUZ about the issue, let see if he will reply to me or he just going to ignore it like most time. I probably get on his shit list pretty soon. SUPzero here i come.

The admin on the Zone asked me for two FREE boards (that I didn't even make - like I could have gotten them even if I wanted to). I said no. He started deleting my posts and kicked me off.

Somehow my last reply became a Facebook response- wierd! In case you can't see it, looks like I got banned from the zone just for putting up a GoPro YouTube of me riding a Corran board. I don't mention the board I'm riding anywhere in the video though the logo is clear in the video.

First the post was deleted then when I tried to log in I found out it can't be done. I emailed the admin over there to ask what's going on but so far no reply, I can't think of any other reason to kick me out of there. And if my ride of choice does get me banned, that's really sad.

The Southern California standup surf crew of north OC and South OC is getting run... Pretty soon it will be a distance only forum. That kind of sucks bcz I have met some great people on the Zone. We will see what happens when I post about my new Assym from Corran on the Zone... If it gets deleted, that will be a shame.

I had a ton of stuff deleted from The Zone just because we were a little late renewing our Exocet ad with them; I mean "everything" that was under our "Marketplace" banner "GONE" with a simple keystroke... Good people... many of whom I will miss talking to.

Not looking to replicate the Zone which is now in large measure a vehicle for selling Chinese boards and stuff to newbies... and a place where Byron looks at me on every page... but maybe we can get a good group of people to contribute to this forum... share ideas... and try and move this sport forward without Big Brother telling us what shapers we can and cannot post about.

I am trying to get Roger Hinds to sign up here too.

Ok I'll play too. Been registered here for a few months but not active. One time I tried to buy a Corran board but it was stolen before the deal went through. I'll probably be banned for attempting to own one.

As more people are booted off the zone, so it will become less attractive to the sponsors and they'll start to dwindle.. As that happens, so admin will become more adamant that you have to be a sponsor to play, more people will leave (the is the general public who go there for information), and it'll become even less interesting to the sponsors. It'll become a vicious circle to implosion in my opinion.

I can't think of a single pay to play forum that's successful.

Well darn it! Now I can see where some of the posters I liked to read have disappeared too. Now I am stuck with the ID I had to create to get on Stand up zone instead of the one I normally use which didn't fit the criteria of an obvious SUP user name.
I paddle flatwater but grew up at the beach and enjoy the pictures/ videos/stories. I will stick around here since I think I had best avoid the Zone until I am not as upset at the recent decisions.

The only current downside to this place right now is that the activity is slower due to not as many members. What rules is that we are free to share what ever we feel like as long as it stays within a few parameters. Stick around and help us get this place rocking.

There are now 400 members now on sup zero so its growing

There is something nice about a small intimate group, like cardiff said after a while it gets to be a lot of posts about 'wax v deck pads' or 'coiled leash in the surf', in saying that, we do need a few more cooks in the kitchen to get more constructive content, would be cool if there was a pay to kidnap some peeps who haven't made it over here yet, PDX, Dave, Pono ect....
