This board was designed for aggressive pocket surfing and high speed turns while maintaining control in critical situations. It is also the perfect size for smaller surfers just getting started who find the bigger board to cumbersome to carry and control. It was designed for surfing in a variety of waves. The 8-9 Ripper has good glide for a board its size and is a favorite of a lot of surfers. - Beginner in flat or calm waters: up to 160 lbs
