Klibre from Suranyi

Discover what happens when a composite boat manufacturer starts shaping a freestyle boat with the K'libre from french manufacturer Suranyi.

K'libre from Suranyi

The K'libre is a new freestyle boat shaped by Patrick Suranyi and Fabien Boulay. This boat is the first freestyle production of this french manufacturer more famous for competition racing kayaks and canoes. It is built in epoxy-diolen which gives to the boat an incredible rigidity and you really want to experience this on a fast wave, the ollies are massive! The wave performance is amazing and the vertical moves are said to go very easily. Well, the standard version weighs just about 9kg (19.8lbs) and you can order a custom version of a mere 7kg (15.4lbs)!!!

The K'libre is designed for people around 70 kg and can accomodate tallish people (up to 1m85) mainly because of the big foot bumps that give to the boat its distinctive look. Fabien is 1m84 ans size 44 feet and fits the boat quite happily. He told us that 75 kg is round the optimum weight. More than 80kg and boat looses its speed and at less than 70 kg, the boat gets quite hard to control.

The shapers are quite happy with their first boat and they hope it will get good results when the competition season starts in France. For more information about the K'libre, visit Suranyi.fr, or get some more pictures from k'lecon-1team.fr.st.
