The Mattawa is a truly extraordinary small canoe. Quick and responsive, it is a delight to paddle in all conditions. Most surprising is that all this performance comes with a solid stable feel right to the swamp point and beyond! For medium and smaller sized couples, the Mattawa is a welcome addition to the paddling scene.

Swift Canoe & Kayak had our classic boat designer David Yost create a Prospector that is similar to the legendary Chestnut Prospector in the fall of 2005. After much testing and refinement, we introduced this classic canoe with our Fusion Laminates and Trim System in the fall of 2006. Initial field reports have brought back rave reviews as to how close the boat performs to the original Cedar Canvas Chestnut Prospector. IF you are looking for a classic Prospector Canoe, a test paddle of the Swift prospector is a must.

The Keewaydin is the newest David Yost canoe design and is a remake of the classic Keewaydin 17 we produced years ago. David has taken the pleasant performance characteristics of the older version and incorporated a sleeker shape with narrower paddling stations. The keewaydin 17 will be a popular boat with young families and couples looking for a performance day tripping, weekending and touring canoe!

The Algonquin 16 one of our most popular models for good reason. It has enormous stability yet paddles and handles effortlessly. The Sixteen inspires confidence in beginning paddlers and parents in particular appreciate its roominess and stability. For photograph, hunting, fishing and other activities that require stability, the Algonquin 16 has few equals.

The Algonquin 15 is an ideal recreational and cottage canoe for solo and tandem paddling. Stable and roomy, it has the secure feel that infrequent or entry level paddlers prefer. Unlike most other entry level canoes, the Algonquin 15 still has a lively feel and is just as at home on short wilderness trips as it is on an afternoon’s paddle.
