About Me
I'm 5' 10" and 180#, been kayaking for over 20 years, Live in Grangeville, Idaho, and have owned more kayaks than I can count. I have 5 right now, and kayak very little class five. I kayak all year round, and have spent over 50 days in my Ammo. I have had it on bigger volume rivers like the Salmon R. Idaho and down to more technical rivers like the Southfork of the Clearwater, and all kinds of water in between. Without a doubt, this is my favorite boat. If I was a playboater or a class 5+ boater I think I would go with something else... but for me, this is perfect.
Pros / The Good
The outfitting fits me very well, and I haven't had any kind of a breakdown with the outfitting. It is extremely nimble, which makes it a lot of fun in tight waters. It boofs well. Resurfaces well and has room for overnight gear. I roll it easily, and spend a lot of time with a big grin on my face when I'm paddling it.
Cons / The Bad
I have been surprised a few times when I didn't punch holes that I thought I would, but I have found that when I have 12-15 pounds of gear in the stern, it punches through fine and tracks like a larger boat. So sometimes I put the extra weight in the boat to tweak the performance
