I am wondering what people think about paddlers trying to navigate rapids with little no chance of being on their board, whether kneeling of standing? I saw this video on distressed mullet and from the looks of it this guy didn't have a chance of running this rapid clean or even kneeling on the board.

Are adventures like this good for the sport? Pushing the envelope is one thing but this just makes the sport look bad in some ways. Other river users have to be watching this and thinking "these people are just crazy" and not in a good way. On the east coast we always hear about people stand up paddleboarding the Upper Gauley, but from what I can tell it is more like swimming the river with a board near by. When river users see kayakers, rafters and canoeist swimming the river more than paddling you look upon them wondering about their ability to make good decisions and how they are jeopardizing their safety and the safety of those around them.
