Jackson Kayak’s 2014 Rockstar Dominates Podium at ICF World Freestyle Canoe Championships.

Jackson Kayak’s 2014 Rockstar took home 8 medals at this year’s ICF World Championships at North Carolina’s Nantahala Outdoor Center this past week. Eight medals in total were brought home by athletes paddling the 2014 Jackson Kayak Rockstar.

This represents the third time in Freestyle history that a new Jackson Kayak freestyle design has won both the men’s and women’s K1 gold medals, this time adding a Junior World’s title as well. Winning for Team Jackson Kayak were Dane Jackson in men’s, Claire O’hara in womens and Hunter Katich in the junior men’s class. The balance of the medals collected for the Rockstar included 2 silvers and 3 bronze’s.

The ICF World Freestyle Canoe Championships are held every two years, this year being in the US for the second time in World’s history. Every continent was represented and all manufacturers were present with their latest kayaks. Jackson’s 2014 Rockstar was the dominant kayak in the competition with over 80 competitors competing in them taking 8 of 15 medals available in the K1 and C1 classes. The Rockstar took home gold in the two top classes, Men’s K1 and Women’s K1 as well as one of the Junior K1 classes.

“Amazing. I'm super happy to have been able to defend both my world titles again this year,” states Claire O’hara winner of both Women’s K1 and Squirt competitions, “The standard of women’s paddling has been increasing massively and I have been so lucky to be part of it. So it was awesome to not only be able to compete against such a strong group of athletes but to able to lay down some great rides when I need to too retain my World title and set a new high score, unreal.”

“This is a domination that we’ve been seeing throughout the US freestyle tour this summer,” notes Jackson Kayak’s Marketing Director, James McBeath. “It has been a long time since we’ve seen such consistent podium placing’s from any single manufacturer.”

Eric “EJ” Jackson, Jackson Kayak’s President and Dave Knight have reshaped the all new Rockstar hull to perform with better balance, responsiveness and with easier edging and carving power! The Rockstar’s new ergonomic design, stiffer make, enhanced hull support and customizable outfitting gives paddlers a much more comfortable paddle position, takes advantage of body strengths and lends to a stronger body/boat.

The 2014 Rockstar is also available in an industry-first carbon outfitting set up in the Rockstar Competition version. Carbon/Foam Core Hull Support is the foundation that allows the shortest, lightest, newest freestyle kayak design by JK to break all records for weight, performance, and fun. These attributes allow the 2014 Rockstar paddler get vertical easier, allows for bigger loop and increases surfing speed.
