It was a fun kayak for river running and eddy hopping.

About Me
I'm 5'5" with a 28" inseam, US size 8 men shoes, and at the time 185 lbs. I had a number of years and a number kayaks under my belt but the time I owned a Scud. I was mainly a river runner with just a pinch of creek action and was not a play boater in any from.
Pros / The Good
The Scud had bomber plastic, easy to roll, playful hull, very forgiving, it road over waves and would cross holes that seamed impossible for its shot size. Great boat for eddy hopping and relaxing on the river run. The seat was comfortable for long trips and the outfitting was an upgrade from Bliss-sticks past kayaks. Well placed drain plug.
Cons / The Bad
Bliss-stick bomber plastic comes with a weight penalty and is very noticeable in the Scud and Rad kayaks.

Great boat with a narrow niche. While you could use this as a river running playboat, you could also just use your playboat and grow a pair. If you want a steep creeking machine that reduces the pin-potential on tight corners and pinball sections, this is your boat. If the river is only 20' wide, who cares how fast the boat is? On my local runs, with blind drops ranging from 2-12 meters, this boat is phenomenal, confidence inspiring, and fun.

About Me
Paddling since 1998, originally a playboater from the Northeast, US. I've paddled the eastern seaboard, Canada, Costa Rica and now Europe. Started creeking seriously in 2002: Gulf Hagas, Cathance River, Carrabasett River, and now small steep creeks in Switzerland. I've owned this boat for a year now.
Pros / The Good
Overall: This boat is ideal for steep, tight, technical, low to mid-volume creeks. In the creeks around Southern Switzerland this boat, because of the length, is perfect. It can maneuver where longer boats are at risk of pinning. On narrow creeks, where speed isn't critical, this boat excels. There is plenty of room for 'rope access only' gear and a full pin kit. The boat boofs easily, tracks well, resurfaces fairly quickly, changes direction on a dime, and rolls easily. The plastic is super durable, scuff marks that's it.
Cons / The Bad
It is a small boat... don't expect the speed of a Microbat 230. It is a small boat... don't expect a dry ride or to stay on the surface in big water.

If you buy this boat, know what it is designed for, it does those things very well.

About Me
Started to paddle 12 years ago, today aged of 22. I have been paddling my SCUD for 1 year, i also have another boat, a necky mission, i wanted to have a boat for big white water and a playboat for basic river-running session with freestyle moves but i'm actually selling my necky mission because the bliss stick scud is awesome, i paddle in IV and V class with it and it's a fucking great boat. But, it doesn't correspond to everybody's paddling style, some people are not able to paddle in it even if they are good and advertised paddlers, i think it's a good thing to be an "ex-freestyler". I like this SCUD, when you sit in it ther's a strange phenomenon, something disconecting your brain and pushing you to think you could do everything with it. This boat ables you to paddle funly and seriously, it's a pleasure to see big moves coming and to think " ow, shit, am i going to fly?" then comes the answer " No, i won't fly, i'm paddling a SCUD and the pleasure is great". So, this boat is reliable, trustworthy. I like it. What am i saying? I love it! It's the only boat which I gave a king of "personification", I feel confident in this boat. It's my boat and i know that i will buy another one when mine will die on a rock ( if it dies one day... fucking great plastic !)
An advice, buy it.
Pros / The Good
The shape, it's length, it's volume, it's solid plastic, it's a reliable boat.
Cons / The Bad
It's length... yes, sometimes you maybe would like to have a longer boat but everything is ok. It's maybe psychologic...
The only think negativ i can say on it, it's the fact that it's not a fast boat. But, did i want to have a fast boat? No.

I bought my SCUD as a boat to predominantly be used for teaching and leading on Class III water. I was tired of everytime I went to pull a big guy out my little playboat just standing up on its tail and being a pain in the ass to get the guy to shore. The SCUD is everything I could have asked for and more! Lots of room in the stern for safety gear and lunch. I've done some creeking in it and although it's not as great as my Habitat when it comes to some things... it sure is fun to pick your way down a tech little creek with it.

About Me
Class III - IV Paddler. 6'1" 200lbs.
Pros / The Good
Comfortable as hell. Turns on a dime. Boofs unbelievably well, but you could tell that by looking at it. Great boat for leading/rescuing from (as opposed to a playboat with lower volume).
Cons / The Bad
SLOW. Not amazing at punching big trashy holes.

I switched from a Ammo to the Scud and find the scud more playful and actually stable. It carves very well into eddies and during peal outs. It was very easy to alter course when an unexpected ledge shows up.

Conclusion

I believe I will be using this for quite a while. Sort of like having a sprts car tather than a SUV yet able to handle SUV conditions.
