About the reviewer 2 years of paddling Test environment 6.2 knots at deception pass, 5 knots at cattle pass, day trips around San Juans Review The Romany S has been a wonderful boat to learn in. It seems very stable to me yet is quite responsive when cutting into and out of eddy lines. I also got an Explorer for touring in which is also quite nice. The Romany is harder to roll but I like it when conditions are rough. Conclusion I'd highly recommend this boat to anyone looking for a performance boat that seems pretty stable at the same time. I've been a couple other "performance" boats and just didn't feel as comfortable as I did in the Romany. I guess in part that could be to my newness to the sport, but it seems I've done quite a bit of stuff for an old guy learning new tricks.
