Valley Aleut II delight to paddle
About the reviewer intermediate paddler Test environment .5 meter chop, 6 knot wind Review This tandem is designed for rough conditions. My wife and I paddle it often. We venture a couple of miles off shore, and have never had any problems. TAKE A COMPASS. Fog sucks. The boat is a thrill to be in. It turns hard, after all it is 22 feet long and designed for the long haul. Conclusion The boat is incredibly stable, a pleasure to paddle in any water. We named it "The QE II", and others call it "The lead banana" because it weighs ~100 lbs in fiberglass. It can be rolled, I am told. We have paddled the Hudson, Cape Cod Bay, Lake Champlain, The Connecticut river, and the boat has never been challenged. The major problem is the weight, but I guess you expect that from an expedition class kayak with 4 waterproof bulkheads. People in large yachts turn their heads as we paddle past them .
