For many small paddlers, a lightweight boat is the difference between going paddling on their own, or needing help. Swift asked designer David Yost to push the limits -and the Adirondack 10LT is his answer. The shorter length allows Swift to build a kayak that weighs only 22 lbs in Carbon/Kevlar Fusion, while maintaining much of the performance of the Adirondack 12.

The Kiwassa 12.6 is the latest David Yost design and is a crossover shape between our Recreational Adirondack kayaks and our Sport Saranac kayaks. It has a mid sized cockpit shape, generous rocker and pleasing shape. The Kiwassa is a kayak that tracks yet maneuvers quite easily when leaned. It has flush mount hatches and is available with a Skeg or Seal Line Rudder System. We feel this will become aone of our most popular kayaks in short order!

The Kiwassa 12.6 LV offers the same performance and paddling fun as the 12.6, in a package that fits women, kids and smaller paddlers. A little less volume under the deck means this kayak will fit like your favorite pair of jeans.

The Composite Dumoine is one of the favorite boats of Swift Staff members to paddle and to trip with! Designer John Winters refers to it as the modern Prospector. It has aII the outstanding performance characteristics of the Royalex Dumoine but is much lighter and sleeker in shape. Many paddlers would enjoy solo paddling but are put off by the small, tender solo canoes that the dedicated solo paddlers prefer. They also recognize the drawbacks to paddling a tandem boat solo on long trips. The Shearwater was designed to bridge the gap between the two extremes and provides volume, stability and paddling ease to make solo tripping an enjoyable experience for more paddlers. Even though the Shearwater was designed as a user friendly tripper, experienced paddlers will find that the Shearwater is a fine high volume tripper that will perform well on both flat and Whitewater.

The Osprey draws on the lessons learned from our highly acclaimed tandem, the Dumoine. Through skillful manipulation of the shape, the Ospreys heavily rockered. asymmetrical hull provides exceptional maneuverability yet remarkable tracking, while its high Prismatic Coefficient assures fast traveling. The uniquely sculpted, flared hull keeps water out yet permits proper strokes and easy paddling.

Many paddlers - particularly those with small children - do not want to give up performance in exchange for stability and volume. While the Temagami may not have quite the speed of the Winisk, it has enormous stability and room for pets, gear and children. The Temagami performs a multitude of jobs well and will also appeal to those who intersperse a bit of easier Whitewater with their flat water paddling.

For many paddlers, the greatest pleasure is realized while paddling the biglakes, like Georgian Bay or the north shore of Superior. This kind of paddling requires a fast, seaworthy canoe that has the ability to efficiently carry the gear necessary for extended trips.
