If I could only have one piece of gear, this Drysuit would be it.

About Me
I paddle a lot, around 200 days per year and approximately half of that is in a drysuit. I need a suit which can keep up with me, and perform at a high level. When I first tried the Kokatat Gore-tex suit it blew my mind in the best way possible.
Pros / The Good
Gore-Tex. For all of the other fabrics in use in the kayak market which claim to be 'as good as Gore-tex' there is no substitute for the real thing. Dry, breathable, comfortable. Add to that lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time and you are on to a real winner. The limited edition suit is a little heavier than the original Gore-tex Meridian suit which I had previously because it has Cordura bottoms. However once it is on, it doesn't feel much heavier and the increased wear around the legs is amazing for jungle portages and sliding around. It increases the time between repairs exponentially. Which brings me to the last and possibly best Pro. Kokatat repair service. I can send my suit back and get new gaskets installed as well as a pressure test and repair the areas which have been damaged. All for a fraction of the cost of replacement.
Cons / The Bad
Not the cheapest suit not the market but when it comes to kayak gear I am a strong advocate for 'you get what you pay for'.
