About the reviewer
I am a 5 year paddler now. don't think I am a class V paddler yet but working myself in that direction. I have 7 boats.Test environment
I have had this boat on the Kern River at 6000 cfs. I think this boat saved my XXXX. It seems to really stay on top of the water much more than my gt 8.1. I wanted a shorter boat for most rivers that I run because I like technicle stuff. If i was looking for a whitewater boat that I was going to try to camp in this would be one of my choices because of the room. I don't think it makes a good creeker. At least not on the creeks I run. Its too long. If you had a steep creek that was wide enough for a bit slower turns it would be good for that though.Review
well first I would say I question the gallons listed this boat has. It is much bigger than my gt 8.1 and it has it listed as less than that boat. it floats like a bobber on the water....It is a big water boat and floats like one. It is roomy inside and a friend of mine is always borrowing this boat and he is 6'4" about 230 or so.Not a real quick turner because of its length but has very good hull speed.
Course my friend paddles it all the time with me and does the same rivers as I do.
If i was doing a longer run like on the Colorado this boat would be perfect for that. Or if your a big paddle this boat is a great choice.
I would say for what type of boat it is would be a 5 for overall use it would be a 3 so I rated it a 4.
Conclusion
Over all I like this boat but for overall use I like a shorter boat. It does not have a planing hull but I can still surf it on the rapids. I have never had it to the ocean. it rolls good and really has a rounded bottom with little chine if any.Review
