Fluxx rips at Mundaka

About the Reviewer

I come from a mostly playboating background, kayaking as often as i can, usually once a week now that I’m not in uni being able to kayak every day!

Test Environment

Tested the Fluxx in north Spain (Mundaka and Laga)at a kayak festival and Wales (Llangennith)

Review

Coming from a playboating background i have found the seating position in most surf kayaks very strange with the knee position being very close and thus unstable. However with the Fluxx I found that it was very stable with my knees being wider apart. This gives you the confidence to do more and with more of a natural position.

When i first paddled out and was about to get the usual spanking by the break, I found my self shocked by the way the boat seamed to float up and over the pile! The way the boat is designed makes paddling out back effortless and leaves you with more energy to rip the wave.

As for surfing it seems very loose and super light at only 8kg!! and at that weight who can complain!

Conclusion

Overall the fluxx is the best kayak I’ve ever paddled out in surf and the comfort is outstanding. It’s a perfect boat for transition from playboating to surf kayaking. I think this boat is wicked and will definitely be buying one, especially at how cheap they are compared to other carbon kayaks.
