Feb 18 Social Instagram Stoked to say that we are pretty much set with gear for our 130 mile Rio Grande SUP expedition thanks to all the new sponsors! Only thing lacking is how to stay powered for 6-7 days while paddling over 20 miles a day and keep the cameras charged. I've been looking into solar and battery packs but have yet to find the right setup. Any advise or suggestions are welcome. Jan 19 Social Instagram Looking back at this first descent (SUP) of Somoto canyon in northern Nicaragua, reminds me that exploring the unknown is never easy. As you can see it is not a continuous flowing river as the pictures show online but rather an endless row of pools. I ended up having to hike my board through miles of slot canyons and unnavigable water with some help from the guys on our crew. But as we all know 'It's not an adventure until something goes wrong!' We can just throw it on the list of hurdles we've had to go through over the years, like getting caught 5 miles out by a storm while out in kayaks spearfishing the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, being rained on for 17 pitches big wall rockclimbing in Mexico, having a 20+ foot flood hit us while starting our 100 mile sup trip down the Guadalupe or even getting my paddleboard stuck in a tree while whitewater SUPing and being thrown into the raging river. I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm STOKED to see what goes wrong this year! KEEP CHARGING GUYS!
Jan 17 Social Instagram Last year 4 friends and I pushed off with a new Texas record in mind. We took our SUPs down the Guadalupe River from Cuero, Tx down to the Gulf of Mexico; 100 miles and 4 days unassisted by anyone other than ourselves and minimal gear. In April we will be setting another Texas record by paddling 128 miles down the Rio Grande that borders Texas and Mexico. This will be the longest unassisted SUP expedition made in TX history and will also be the first descent of this river by way of paddle board. Travelling more than the entire length of Big Bend national park, through canyon with walls that tower up to 1500ft and miles of remote desert, it will take 5 to 6 days to complete. We will once again have to rely solely on the gear and water we can carry on an inflatable SUP. Considering the water is too polluted from pesticide and livestock runoff up river the water is unsafe to even filter forcing us to carry up to 5 gallons of potable water each. This will dictate the method in which we pack our gear and how much we can actually take. I'm extremely stoked on the team we have put together for this one and can't wait for April! #StandOnTheRioGrande
Jan 11 Social Instagram HELP! To all my paddle boarding buddies out there. We are setting out in April to set another Texas record and we need recommendations on inflatable SUPs. 5 friends and I will be paddling the Rio Grande that boarders Texas and Mexico and we still all need to get new SUPs for this trip that are capable of carrying enough gear AND water for six days. I probably have close to 300 miles on my current board that I used on our last 100 miler and I don't think it's up for the task for another 110+ miles. Feel free to offer any other advice on gear, preparation and maybe even paddles we might want to use. Thanks in advance #StandOnTheRioGrande

Planning a new 110 mile trip in March which will set the another TEXAS RECORD for longest unassisted paddle board expedition and will be the first SUP descent of this river! If you're a company looking to get involved or just have good advise, DM or email me for more info. We're in the early stages of planning and are still looking for ISUPs and lightweight gear that can make the journey
