The Kansas City Whitewater Club was established around 1985 by a group of local paddling enthusiasts interested in sharing their skills and adventures with other paddlers.
In 1999, the KCWC was incorporated as a not-for-profit entity. The club has grown to over 100 members and offers instruction, river trips, kayak polo, program meetings, parties, pool slalom competitions, and pool practice sessions as the backbone of its identity.
