In July 2001, twenty dragonboaters from Boston paddled in the 6th Annual Montreal Dragon Boat Festival.
They were greatly impressed by the spirit, teamwork, and athleticism of the Canadian teams. Fueled by their excitement, they founded Dragon Boat Club of Boston, Inc. The mission of the Dragon Boat Club of Boston, Inc. is to promote and develop the sport of dragon boat, and also promotes cross-cultural understanding through the sport of dragon boat and community outreach programs. As a Massachusetts non-profit corporation, the club supports teams to compete in and beyond Boston.
