In 1972, after struggling to purchase appropriate paddles for his pursuit of racing, David Mitchell decided to combine his years of woodworking with his love of paddling.
Starting with one canoe paddle and two types of kayak paddles, the company has grown over the last 30 years to feature about 25 different choices of paddles. Once deeply rooted in slalom racing, the line of paddles has expanded to include models for every area of paddling. The early emphasis on durable well balanced paddles for the racing market has carried over to produce responsive lightweight paddles for all disciplines.
