"For many people getting into this sport they are not sure what to think about it, and they are certainly a little bit weary of dropping close to $1,000 for many of the large name brand kayaks out there on the market. I know that I picked my first kayak from a Dicks Sporting Goods because I just wanted something cheap to get me on the water. This boat gives you both a good kayak for a low price but also the necessary equipment to get you fishing in no time. This kayak is priced around $600 and comes fully loaded with seat, paddle, rod holder, scotty mounts and an optional visi-pole.

Very durable, made of a heavy duty plastic ( you could slide this thing down a gravel driveway, though not really recommended):

Seriously this thing is tough. It has fallen off the roof of my jeep once while I was unloading it and there is not a scratch or ding on the thing. I’ve drug it to and from launch sites and barely scuffed the keel.

This is a tandem kayak, so if you’re wife is dropping hints that she may want to tag along this may be the boat for you. It has a third seat for paddling solo.

I’ve heard many guys that are thinking about buying a kayak and the wifey tells them that she may want to go out on the water with him sometimes as well. Then they start looking at tandem kayaks, many make the purchase then are stuck with this thing and their wife never joins them. I thingk that that the Splash II is a cool design because it is a tandem kayak but also has a third seat in the middle so that you can paddle solo. Perfect!

Capable of holding weights up to 500lbs.

Very Spacious

A keel the length of the boat.

The Keel of this boat runs from the stern to the bow of this boat. It tracks great and turns much better than my other kayak.

Extremely Stable, as you can see I had no problems standing or sitting sideways in this kayak."

"I was looking for a stable kayak that I could use either as a tandem with my wife, or solo if my wife didn't want to paddle. We already have a tandem sit-inside that works well for when we both paddle but with non adjustable seats it wasn't suitable for solo paddling. Our last few camping trips to FL convinced me that a sit-on-top for use on the beaches and for easy climbing on and off for snorkeling would be a welcome addition to our fleet. After doing a lot of research I came across the Crescent Splash II, which is billed as a tandem kayak, yet has 3 seats so you can move to the center seat when paddling solo. We could also carry a small child in the center seat when we paddle tandem which would be impossible in our tandem sit-inside.
I've used the Splash II on 3 trips now. Two were on lakes and the latest was paddling 10 miles down the Chattahoochee river. The Splash II is very stable, and it paddles well. It also tracks straight due to it's built in "keel" so it worked well with my picture taking. The middle seat is probably just a little in front of the center of gravity, so if you don't have any gear in the back you are probably riding just a tad low in front, but that was not troublesome at all. We had steady winds yesterday on our outing but they did not affect our speed or direction much so this is much better in the wind than our canoe is. We have the optional high back "Seals" seats that are very comfortable and have brass clips that allow you to switch from tandem to solo easily.
Overall, compared to other tandem sit-on-tops I think this is an excellent value and hope to have many happy trips on lakes, rivers, and beaches."

" I have the splash 2 and like it, I go with my wife and my son to the beach is very stable, easy paddle and is fast easy to handle, it has a lot of space to put coolers and stuff like that, I recommend this kayak the price is low and I have no complaints, and is very fun."

i bought a splash 11 from Jerry at west coast kayak in st.Petersburg fla. I found tzhe kayak to be sluggish not able to handle 425 tandem in very calm waters, the water was coming in over the sides and the dry storage area was very wet enough where it had to be drained.

I tried to return it to west coast kayak the same day . Jerry was rude and did not stand behind his product. He tried to charge me storage while kayak was in to be checked out. I would never purchase another crescent kayak and would avoid west coast kayak like the plague.
