The Fire paddles are the flagship models of our new Ty Warp range. These foam core blades push Ty Warp paddles to a new dimension thanks to the use of high quality materials and a unique manufacturing process we achieve minimum weight and maximum stiffness, stability and performance. Every paddle is handcrafted by laying up prepreg carbon fibre mats around a premolded foam core. After that the raw blade is pressure laminated at high temperature. Those areas most exposed to wear and tear are reinforced by additional layers of fibre. The Fire series is built to perform and is the ideal choice for slalom and extreme race kayakers. Its asymetric aquadynamic blade shape is very balanced and offers exact feathering and flutterfree strokes. The Fire paddles are available with straight shaft or our signature neutral bent shaft.

I got this one two years ago and it is still my #1 paddle. The blades are huge and it takes some degree of fitness to use the paddle correctly, but you will be rewarded with a perfect power transmission and some additional pounds of lift, when you have to make that roll in white water.

Beware of the paddle's edges, though. When they wear off, small chips and splinters of carbon fiber come unglued and they can cut your skin like razor blades. I personally stick a strip of duck tape around the edge; it lasts about half a season for me.

About Me
Mid-40s hobby paddler on whitewater (class III) and on the sea (mainly day-trips), about 120 days per year on the water.
Pros / The Good
- classy looks
• very light
• wide spaced grips (ergo-shaft-bends)
• very effective transmission of force in the water
• suits nearly every style from alpine creeking to slalom competitions
• big foam core for additional lift when rolling in white, bubbly water
• low feather at 35° (feels natural)
Cons / The Bad
- edges wear off fast
• not really a freestyle/rodeo paddle
