You have to try this kayak if you are into Greenland style of paddling. Greenland is one of the most well recognized kayaks on the market today. With the classic lines and low volume it has given many paddlers the joy and the interest of trying something new, or go “back to basics” traditional design. Zegul Greenland style kayaks have particularly low volume and a tight fit to Your body, which gives You a full control of what You are doing and provides You with the feeling of being closer to water than ever. We built this model at the request of the customers who wanted to use the Greenland for longer trips and who wanted a larger cockpit.

The Greenland GT is based on our original Greenland model, the increased width adds stability, while maintaining the characteristics that have made the original Greenland famous. We added the day-hatch and enlarged the rear hatch, increasing its storage capacity, then gave it a keyhole cockpit for easier entrance and exit.

This is a beautiful boat that hearkens to the real Greenland skin boats in its lines. It is very well made, and handles like a sporty boat which will allow a paddler to progress in rolling and handling in rougher waters. It fits snuggly without being too tight. It has enough room for modest trips and is well appointed with features that all paddlers appreciate. I paddle this boat off the east coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and it is the perfect boat for these waters.

About Me
I am a long time kayaker and canoe paddler, and have owned a number of different sea kayaks, including a Pygmy, a Feathercraft and a Delta.
Pros / The Good
The fit and finish on this boat are excellent. Attention to small details, like the deck lines that work to hold a paddle, make this a beautifully made boat. The boat is very responsive and fun with the skeg up, and tracks solidly when the skeg is deployed. It turns well when leaned, and does not weather cock in brisk winds.
Cons / The Bad
The boat is heavy - this may not be a problem for a strong man, but for a woman, even 5 lbs can make it harder to carry than most boats. Still, I like the boat. The hatch cover areas should also have a drain lip. As it stands, water collects there.
