The Saar is a smaller tandem tourer designed for day and weekend trips. It combines the light weight of a smaller boat with a narrow beam that allows for quick and efficient paddling without sacrificing stability. We've included plenty of features that'll make it capable of handling a few days of touring.
The Saar's standard features and outfitting include:
• Medium seats and highly-adjustable "Reggie" backbands made by Immersion Research.
• A 10" front hatch and large oval rear hatch with Kajaksport "click-on" covers. The hatches' large openings make packing and unpacking a bit easier. The covers are rigged with finger loops for easier access while wearing gloves and are tethered to the inside of the boat so they aren't lost.
• Two fully-sealed composite bulkheads (one in the bow and one in the stern).
• Full deck rigging with recessed deck fittings, black reflective deck lines, and heavy-duty 1/4" black bungee.
• Compass recess behind the front hatch.
• A stainless steel lock point and molded recess in the stern to catch the rudder and prevent it from scratching the deck when retracted.
• A large tandem rudder for optimal handling. By default, we rig the steering to the rear cockpit.
