Model Year
When Lina Augaitis & Georges Cronsteadt asked for the fastest board possible for races that are in protected waters like the Abu Dhabi and Lost Mills races, Mark designed the X-12 PRO-LITE. This board is for the most elite, lighter weight male and female paddlers and for serious youth paddlers who want the winning edge. Because the board is 24.6”/62.5cm narrow, the bottom cross sections were redesigned so side-to-side stability was maintained to the fullest. Both tail rocker and deck drainage were opti- mized. The board comes stock with the EZ-Grab handle and removable race handle for beach starts. The X-12 PRO-LITE is a hyper fast and agile, pure flat-water racing board.
Features
• Single Carbon Composite (SCC) full wrap biaxial carbon
• Innegra™ tip, rail and tail reinforcement
• PVC reinforced deck for the ultimate in strength, weight and stiffness
• Croc skin EVA deck pad
• U.S. standard finbox w/ 12K Carbon Weedless 7.0"; fin
• Gore-Tex breather valve
• EZ-Grab handle
• Single surf leash plug
• Removable race handle
Technology
SCC SINGLE CARBON COMPOSITE
Our SCC +Innegra™ construction is a light weight cnc/eps core with a full wrap biaxial carbon fiber glass internal layer. The SCC also features an Innegra™ tip, rail and tail reinforcement area and 2-Layers of biaxial glass rail reinforcement for extra durability. The 3mm high-density pvc deck reinforcement with a crocodile textured eva deck pad is grippy and comfortable for long paddles. This construction also features our ez-grab carry handle and gore-tex breather vent.
This board is a displacement hull board.
DISPLACEMENT HULL
Standard Characteristics: Considered the road bike of the water due to its quick acceleration, efficient glide and top end speed in smooth conditions. Displacement hull boards are easily identifiable by their rounded bottom shape and piercing nose style in the bow. The nose of the board generally is designed to pierce the water, aid in board tracking and cut through chop to reduce drag and promote glide, as well as top end speed. The rocker line is generally flat and the volumes are greater than surf style boards. The added volume allows the board to float higher in the water which reduces drag thereby promoting better glide ratios and unlocks top end speed. Increased volume and width typically provides more stability, especially for heavier paddlers. Conversely, narrower boards are faster but less stable, depending on the paddler’s weight and skill level.
