The Sith has a perfectly symetrical front and back with a huge flat planing hull and twin release chines giving it a slippery feel as soon as it is on a wave.

Flat spin transitions are a breeze, or engage the edges for fast carving. The centralised volume and wide flat ends give it excellent stability for vertical moves in holes. With significant volume around the cock pit the Sith is retentive in a hole, but with enough length to escape if you want out!

Shaggy Sith

About the reviewer

Intermeadiate / Advanced paddler with time in OC, C and K boats

Test environment

Mostly class III but II and IV as well. Each boat tested was configured defferently with outfitting and had different cuts (Volume).

Review

Was pretty happy in every verision I paddled! Very slicey and loose, quick on a wave and can plain or cut across current with ease. Due to size and material (Composite) its not a hard core creeker but I can easily see running the UY and BS in this boat. As a play boat & river runner it has some serious factor for you! Light to carry and construction is top notch.
Cons - not many other than having to paddle it as glass boat on rock runs. Oh and Shaggy only does limited metal flake - I like my glass glittery!

Conclusion

If there is only on C1 to have this is pretty much it.

The Sith rocks!

About myself

I consider myself an intermediate paddler

Test environment

I bought this boat for bigger water playing and riverrunning like the Ottawa.

This is the best overall play/riverunning C1 I have ever paddled. It is a fast slicey boat, but has the required stability of a C1. The volume distribution and with make it very balanced and stable, even when running big waves or boily water. Recovery in big water is easy. Playing in this boat is excellent, in holes as well as oon waves. It surfs, carves and spins like a dream. New school aerial play moves are probably not possible, but that's not what I was looking for anyway.

It can be cut in volume and length to suit your weight and performance expectations, and custom layups are possible.

The outfitting is basic, but excellent, a moulded in composite saddle, C-pillars in the frontal area of the cockpit and crotch stap anchors already glassesd in. All that's needed is add some foam to the C-pillars and the back of the saddle to get your trim right and to lock your knees down, install some thigh straps and you are good to go. It is very comfortable, particularly for a boat with a saddle height of less than 6", I can be in it for at least 1.5 hours before I need to get out to stretch my legs.

Conclusion

The best C1 I have paddled so far!
