Inspired by the Inuit word for fire, the Ikkuma 17 is a modified Greenland style design that will ignite new energy into your touring adventures! Designed by Stuart Mounsey and James Mole of Copper Cove Boatworks, the Ikkuma 17 carries an aggressive chine and moderate rocker that deliver comfortable handling in chop and currents.
The deck includes flush fittings, Kajak Sport rubber hatches, Immersion Research LoungeBand seatback, and even a day-hatch option for easy access to gear. Traditional toggle handles at either end allow for easy lifting, while generous deck bungees ensure gear and paddles will stay stowed while underway.
Constructed with a rod-style skeg deployment system, the Ikkuma 17 delivers positive and strong skeg control through all angles of operation. Additionally, with its high aspect ratio foiled carbon skeg blade, the Ikkuma 17 delivers a unique blend of control, agility, and speed.
Composite Skeg Blade:
With its unique foiled skeg blade, the Ikkuma 17 delivers exceptional control in rough water paddling. While most skegs offer a shallow wedge useful only for straight line tracking, the Ikkuma 17's efficient foil skeg delivers a deeper bite into the water flow for surfboard-like control in the swells. The lightweight carbon blade offers stiffer resistance than plastic skegs, thereby increasing the kayak's responsiveness to leans and carve turns. Jump into the wind chop and see!
Skeg Deployment Control:
With its rod-style skeg deployment system, the Ikkuma 17 offers firm adjustability through all angles of skeg operation.
Available Options:
Skeg
Day-Hatch
Two-Color Fade
Prismatique Color
Trim Colors - Seam, Cockpit, Coamings
Day-Hatch Option $ 200
Clear Hull Option $ 250
