The 12’6” SG2 Crossfit is made for high performance training in flatwater or ocean, but is also a competitive stock class raceboard with race proven results in the 2011 Battle of the Paddle in Honolulu Hawaii. Long distance and endurance athletes will find the board well suited for endurance paddle workouts of any length. In replace of a full quiver for different uses and conditions, the Crossfit was specially designed to perform well in flatwater lakes or ocean, in rough choppy water and glassy conditions. It's a fitness training board that is fast and stable but performs well in competitive racing—an all-round 12'6” board. The full displacement hull and sharp bowed nose makes it fast for when every second counts in a race. And at 29” wide, its increased width makes it extra stable and slight V bottom allows it to glide easily over long distances and in a variety of weather conditions. Stability and glide were the primary design goals for the board. Those two elements make it an unbeatable platform for distance training and core workouts. With stability and glide, a rider can concentrate on stroke and pulling from the abdominals rather than on balance and staying afloat.

“The Crossfit was great, I really like it,” says Trent Hickman, a certified personal trainer and SUP instructor who specializes in strength and conditioning in Park City, Utah. He continued, “My very first time on the board, I got on it and felt stable and secure and was smooth around the turns. I rode it in my first open ocean race at the Battle of the Paddle Hawaii and took second place in the men’s open race... Inland, I'd use that board for training and to cover distance. It's really stable and fast.”

The Crossfit achieves superior performance because of the innovative way that it is designed. The body is a modified raceboard design and the result of more than 30 iterations in the development cycle. The Crossfit is also built using a new construction technique created by Pau Hana called Halotex construction, which is a mix of carbon fiber, bamboo and fiberglass fused together under heat and pressure to form an extremely rigid and lightweight span along the length of the board and under the standing area. The Halotex panel running down the center replaces wood stringer beams and forms a backbone that is lighter and stiffer than traditional board constructions. The board shape outline features a wider tail to make it forgiving for recreational athletes in training; a full displacement hull and sharp bowed nose to kick it into speed when needed; and squared up rails to provide stability in choppy conditions.
