The revolutionary kayak that virtually invented recreational kayaking has been redesigned with a fresh look and new features.
While retaining the ample cockpit room, unparalleled primary stability and great tracking ability that have helped make the Loon a much-loved classic, we've made that cockpit shape even more user-friendly, used new style lines to actually add to its already impressive strength and equipped it with a bulkhead, our exclusive Space Hatch™. We've also added an ultra-comfortable Ergonomic Extrasport® XtraComfort™ Seat.
Further Specs:
Capacity: 225 lbs / 102.0 kg
Features:
• Rear Space Hatch™ with foam bulkheads for enhanced gear storage
• Ergonomic Extrasport® XtraComfort™ Seat
• Carrying handles
• Adjustable foot braces
• Paddle holder

Loon 100
About the reviewer
I just got into kayaking July '06 with my purchase of the Loon 100Test environment
I bought the Loon 100 a few years ago and have gotten lots varied use out of it. First its supposed to be used as a lake/ lazy river boat. At least thats what the description of the boat is. Being my first kayak - i thought it was great in that respect. It tracks well, has a rear hatch and lots of room inside.About two weeks after i bought the kayak i started running down some whitewater. Obviously not endorsed by Old Town. I bought flotation bags one for the hatch, which has a tendency to fill with water through lots of rapids and one for the front of the kayak. It was tough finding a sprayskirt for such a large opening for a kayak (42" range roughly).
Review
My review of the kayak is it feels like a hybrid between canoe and kayak, even though it is obviously a kayak. Its great for on the lake and is able to handle tough Class II rapids, but gets a pretty tipsy. Conclusion
The thing i like the most about the kayak is that its able to be used on the lake and some whitewater, its versatile. If your looking for primarily a whitewater boat - you don't want this boat.I would really like to hear from anyone that has tried to use this kayak for whitewater and what their thoughts are.
