Every surfer knows what a gun is, and when its needed. And its needed as much for SUP as any other surfing discipline. When its big and ugly, you want a board that will get you out, and put you on the waves, no matter what’s coming at you. Thats what the Rhino Chaser does.
But it’s really more of a semi-gun, because on the wave it’s a lot of fun. While staying ahead of the crashing wave is critical, we believe that you should also be able to have fun on the waves face.
The bottom runs from a slight single concave, before gradually leaving the rounded pintail in a pronounced V. The radical S rails are designed to reduce the volume as much as possible to prohibit bouncing at high speeds and in choppy surf. The generous sweep to the outline and defined tail rocker make sure that you can still turn this board on a dime.
Generous deck volume makes this board paddle out exceptionally well, and a very pronounced nose rocker allows you to take extremely late takes offs on the steepest waves. The nose width is pulled in to reduce lift from wind rushing up the wave face, and to stop it snagging while driving turns from the center of the board.
Finally, the Rhino chaser is made extra strong so its both resistant to wave impact, and has less bounce due to its mass.
