Model 500 tandem kayak is our largest, highest volume tandem kayak. Small and light enough to easily get out for a quick paddle, the 500 has plenty of carrying capacity for a multi-day trip. Amazingly, the 500 folds up to fit into the same backpack that our single kayaks fit into and weighs only 50 pounds! The 500 can be paddled solo from the rear seat, makes a great kayak for a couple or for a parent and child.

Marine Plywood Cockpit Coaming - Large coaming is made of durable marine plywood. Seat & back rest are movable so you can choose the best position for solo or tandem paddling. Two types of spraydecks are available as an option. Tandem spraydeck comes with two sprayskirts. Solo spraydeck comes with a sprayskirt & a cockpit cover.
Deck Bungee Cord & Perimeter Safety Lines - Bungee deck lines provide easy tie down of map cases and small items. Safety line running the perimeter of the kayak is easy to grab.
Internal Air Sponsons - Internal air sponsons provide additional stability while adding tension to the skin. Comes with a footpump for quick inflation.
Heavy Duty Hull Material - Made from highly durable UV resistant PVC coated polyester. Standard and Expedition are available. Expedition hull materials have Kevler ripstop core for extra strength.
Anatomic Padded Seat - Both seat and back rest are shaped anatomically to have a comfortable fit. Nylon cover offers protection against wear & tear.
Floor Board - Three piece floor board protects the hull and gives easy entry & exit from the cockpit.
Cross Ribs - Cross ribs are made from high grade hi durable marine plywood with three coats of varnish for extra waterproofness.
Metal Pieces - All the rivets, pins and metal pieces are made of non-corrosive materials.
Double Layer Pole - Highly durable, flexible & lightweight fiberglass poles are ideal for the kayak frame. The joint sections of the keel & gunwales are double layered for reinforcement.
