The Inukshuk, combining elegance and performance, is unquestionably the fastest kayak in its category.

Its long waterline and tapered contour allow the kayak to accelerate quickly and track beautifully, while the upswept bow provides buoyancy when paddling in waves. A moderate rocker makes the kayak very agile while performing a lean turn. This comfortable and spacious kayak features a low profile offering minimal wind resistance, making the Inukshuk easy to manoeuvre.

Inukshuk is the Inuit word for a stone monument that serves as a marker for travellers in Canada's Far North. The human form of the pile of flat stones conveys this message to the Inuit: “Man has been here; you are in known territory.”

All you need for a tough boat that packs well and goes everywhere.

About myself

I enjoy taking extended trips to remote areas with this boat, as well as day paddling in varying conditions. 5 yrs experience, strong paddler.

About the test environments

Lake Simcoe: Home base. Nice water, tends to be gusty and can go from calm to stormy quickly. Has a tight swell spacing(compared to G.B.) and a quartering wave action that keeps you on your toes when going with the waves. I learned by experience to go with about 1/3 to 1/2 rudder depth in such situations is the best way to go. Glassy calm mornings make for nice cruising. The due north blowthrough from Katrina(straight onshore breeze/gail where I'm at) was the best play-test this boat ever passed.

Georgian Bay: Varying experiences with areas & conditions

Atlantic Ocean: Northern N.B.

Review

This boat has a good bit of speed when unloaded and can handle some pretty big stuff without a problem. It packs well with it's decent storage capacity, and handles excellent with a full load. The HDP is highly durable and will take lots of abuse for many years. Mine has.

Conclusion

Great all round sea kayak.
