American Rivers Finding a solution for Arinona’s water requirements that’s dependent on Colorado River
American Rivers - Arizona remains in a lingering drought, and with the structural over use of the Colorado River, more must be done to support the river and keep Arizona’s water supply out of shortage. Passage of a Drought Contingency Plan is an important step for the preservation of Lake Mead water levels.
International Rivers African National Congress (ANC) energy policy favours the controversial Inga 3 Dam
International Rivers - In December 2017, the African National Congress (ANC) proclaimed that they would make use of cleaner energy technologies adopting renewable energy. The Economic Transformation Policy document talked about this. However, in the forthcoming Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) that outlines how South Africa would meet it’s long-term energy needs, it is mentioned that the country would continue to rely on importing new hydropower, such as from the controversial Inga 3 Dam in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
