SAN DIEGO, California - The world’s leading inflatable paddle board company, Red Paddle Co, have announced the date and location for the Dragon World Championships 2019. The world’s only dedicated team SUP competition will see teams of all abilities come together to battle it out on the 22ft four person Dragon board and revel in a what is set to be true celebration of SUP.

The setting for the 2019 event has been hotly contested with SUP fans across the globe predicting where this year’s Dragon World Champions will be crowned. Since its launch in 2017, the DWC has kissed the golden sandy shores of Carlise Bay, Barbados and embraced the mystical mountains of Lake Fuschl, Austria. Now in its third year, Red Paddle Co have confirmed the Dragon World Championships 2019 will be held on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy, France.

The two-day event will take place on 15th–16th June 2019, slightly earlier in the year than previous events as Head of Marketing at Red Paddle Co, George Shillito explains “The Dragon World Championships has always been about creating the most accessible, fun and fast SUP event in the world. Moving the event to June allows paddlers of any level to get involved from those considering their first board through to teams who have been training throughout the winter. What’s more, we will now be hosting three separate divisions to allow us to offer even more opportunity for people to rally the troops and create teams in either all-men, women's or mixed categories!”

The competition entry opens on the 25th March 2019, and paddlers of all capabilities are welcome to sign up with no qualification required. Whether you are passionate beginner or a seasoned SUP professional, the ‘DWC’ is an experience of a lifetime.
