Thanks both. Full story is that I have the 9-5 striker which I really like.  I'm looking for more of a longboard experience, big single fin, stand back, pivot turn, get on the nose.

Based on that sentence - I'd go B&B all the way, absolutely love the board, but literally that's all I do on it, one big pivot turn and get to the nose. I would maybe look at the in-between size of 9'9" x 30" x 4" depending on your size. Since you have the Striker, I'd suggest e-mailing Marlon or Jimmy - they are great about answering questions.

I've owned a 9'5" Striker, and it's a very good all around "long board" shape. I've never ridden a Style Master, but they look nice, and I hear positive things about them. However, after years of buying and selling, borrowing, and on-water swapping...my favorite long board shapes are from Imagine. I own several now and am considering sourcing more as they are now out of business. I have the 7'10" Impact, the 8'4" Impact, the 9'0 Impact(longboard shape) the 2013 9'1" Fluid(performance longboard/gun) and the 2014 9'1" Fluid which is a compromise between the 2013 Fluid and the 9' Impact. Check out a 9'8" Imagine Impact, or an older 9'9" Imagine Fluid. The shapes are similar to each other and both very good.

Hey,

The JL Striker is a nice all around longboard I didn't find it to nose ride all that well (but that could be my style/ability Size or waves I ride)As far as the Fanatic Stylemaster is a HIGH-Performance longboard that you can nose ride. In other words, the rocker and fins let you get back and make hard shortboard like turns and then you can step forward and get on the nose.

Since someone else brought up the SUNOVA options I've ridden the Surf and the Style VERY DIFFERENT boards. The SURF is a user-friendly performance longboard. I prefer the Fanatic Style master. The STYLE is a true NOSE RIDDING MACHINE! it is very similar to the JL Black & Blue but lighter and a little livelier. If you want to maximize tip time the STYLE is my choice. Please remember this is just MY perception NOT the BIBLE according to Jim...

I hope this helps If I can be of any further help feel free to PM me here

I have owned three performance longboards.

Recently purchased an Infinity New Deal. Absolutely the Real Deal!

They come in all sizes and are true performance longboards.

I still feel the JL Black and Blue - especially after a third length was added - is the standard for a dedicated nose rider.

But I rode my New Deal in huge hurricane swells!

Long thread on the breeze if you are interested..
Let it come to you..

I have the 10'6 style and would put it exactly where Jim K did in his response below.  I decided on it because I wanted a small wave noserider- but the black and blue was just TOO much of a noserider.  I still wanted to have some turn from the middle.  It also doesnt require as much trimming (IMHO) than the B&B.

(Note I havent ridden the B&B but went DEEP in my research chatting and watching videos prior to getting the style)
