Here I thought I had turned a corner as far as being comfortable on the foil.  Add some size, some kelp, dial up the speed and whoa!

By far the most exciting foil experience I have had yet:

I have a new respect for Beasho's learn to foil experience. Knee to shoulder high is huge difference for me and I can only imagine what overhead foil surfing is like.  :)
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Clay, that's really cool to see your smile, you look so happy. I forget, are you on a 600 mast ?
Yes it's true that even on a small wave the speed is amazing and shortboarders don't believe that you can go so fast on a small wave until you fly past them !
Love your videos and your stoke. Brett.

Hard not to get excited and smile watching your vids Clay!  Looked like you had a blast!  Although I don't see foiling in my future anytime soon that was enjoyable!  Thx!!

Youza!  Thanks for the vid Clay.

I know the spot - hardly anyone there normally,
but comes up good for the foil.  I would have thought
there would be too much kelp.  Maybe the key is to go
out somewhat after a big swell has clipped it.

I really enjoy your narrative in your videos. I can feel your excitement. And the slow motion parts of the video are great.

Super - Super Cool Clay.

I'm excited to see the progress.  I went crazy when I got the foil because I knew I was going to the East Coast for a break.  I'm not sure I can handle the big stuff yet.  My first day was the most intimidating @ 6 to 9 feet with wind chop.  I remember thinking "Oh my gosh this would be great if I only knew what I was doing."

Windy, Choppy, Sloppy, . . . . SWAMPY it's all good now  8)

Good morning!  I appreciate all the great feedback, thank you!

Yes I am on a gofoil 600mm (24 1/2") mast.

Making progress on the foil sure is fun, I am super excited also, dreaming of all the new foil possibilities  ;D

I surf there though its never very good and where it breaks at a lower tide is filled with big rocks so that area is a no foil zone.  But where you were at and even further offshore offers lots of potential foil rides and no crowds.

Clay, did you ever try a shorter mast?

I take it you surf the left?

24" is the only mast length I have tried.

Did you get a foil, and if yes how's it going?   Someone said they saw another foiler out.
