I have an 11' NSP with the full length deck pad. I know many different brands use different materials but my dog's toe nails did a number on the NSP pad. My dog is big, an 80lb German Shepherd and her nails are always trimmed. Not sure if it is her weight or the pad material. You may look at some aftermarket, tougher padding depending on your board. The board itself was great for the dog, very stable.

200 lbs, dog is around 70, and we are out on a 2011 12' Glide all the time. Still make good speed with the extra weight, and very stable. The deck pad has been holding up really well, with only a few very noticable claw marks and such. The nose is slick as snot, but I prefer her staying closer back to me anyways.
Pete.

The Starboard K15 (15' X 30") is a great Expedition, cruising board with a sunken cockpit.
Low Center of gravity, has self bailing scuppers. Displacement type hull.
Can be wind surfed (T slot Track) also has a 15" removable Dagger that increases the roll stability.
Tie downs for gear front and back...

Lots of people put their kids and/or dogs in these with them for a paddle.

Hope that helps,
