The Vénéon derby takes place in September in France. This is a famous team race and meeting for all the french kayakers in a nice wild valley. The race is 35 min by teams of 3. This year was my first time at the derby and I competed with Mathieu Dumoulin and Paolo Willmann-rosso for our team of 3. We arrived with Mat a few days before the event to check different lines and train for the race. The section for the race is very beautiful, but there is an awesome gorge 20 minutes down from the race section. This year the section was pretty high and really powerful, but really good! Our team won the slalom and the extreme race. We had nice hot weather (except during the nights), great water levels and almost all our friends were there. So it was just a perfect mood: friendly and happiness.
